Tarchon (altgriechisch ΀άρκων TΓ‘rkōn, lateinisch und etruskisch Tarchun) war laut antiken Sagen der BegrΓΌnder mehrerer etruskischer StΓ€dte.

Tarchon war der Bruder oder Sohn des Tyrrhenos. Er hatte zwΓΆlf StΓ€dte gegrΓΌndet, darunter auch Tarquinii (etruskisch Tarchna) und den Etruskischen ZwΓΆlfstΓ€dtebund organisiert.

In der NΓ€he von Tarquinii pflΓΌgte er den Tages, einen Enkel des Jupiter, aus der Erde. Dieser lehrte Tarchon Teile der β€žEtruskischen Lehreβ€œ (Etrusca disciplina), einer Lehre ΓΌber die religiΓΆsen Praktiken.

Der Name Tarchon wird mit dem hethitischen Wettergott TarαΈ«unna in Verbindung gebracht.
